Your privacy
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Travel Bargain collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights and choices you have. We've written it to be clear and complete.
Last updated: March 2024
Travel Bargain (“Travel Bargain”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the website travelbargain.net (the “Site”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the Site and through your communications with us by phone, email or our forms.
By using the Site or submitting a request to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and request details — such as your name, email address, phone number, and the trip details you share (destination interest, approximate dates, number of travelers, budget and message).
- Correspondence — the content of emails, calls or messages you exchange with our advisors.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data — such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, the pages you view on the Site, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies — small files and local-storage entries used to keep the Site working and to understand which deals are popular. See the Cookies section below.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data (such as health, biometric or financial-account information) through this Site, and we ask that you not send such information to us.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiries and prepare curated travel options and estimated prices for you;
- Communicate with you about your request, including by phone or email;
- Connect you, with your knowledge, to a licensed travel provider so a booking can be arranged directly with them;
- Operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site and our services;
- Measure which destinations and deals are of interest, on an aggregated basis;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse or security issues.
3. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, when you submit a request or accept non-essential cookies); the performance of steps you ask us to take before entering a possible travel arrangement; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving our services (balanced against your rights); and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Travel providers — when you ask us to help arrange a trip, we share the details needed to prepare a quote or booking with the relevant licensed provider or tour operator.
- Service providers — trusted vendors who help us run the Site and our communications (for example, hosting, form delivery and email), under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Travel Bargain, our users or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries:
- Essential — required for the Site to function and to remember your cookie choice.
- Preferences — for example, remembering your last deal-finder selection.
- Analytics — to understand, on an aggregated basis, how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this Site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — typically for the duration of our correspondence with you and a reasonable period afterward to handle follow-up requests, then we delete or anonymize it, unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including encryption of the Site in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Your privacy rights
EEA / UK (GDPR)
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request access to or deletion of that information; to correct inaccurate information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Other U.S. states
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal information.
To exercise any right, contact us at deals@travelbargain.net. We will verify your request as required by law and respond within the applicable timeframe. You may use an authorized agent where permitted.
10. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
